Why Am I Short? Can I Still Grow Taller Naturally?

Since you are reading this, I suppose you feel short and are wondering how you can grow taller naturally. Let me ask you first: how come you think you are short? I know this question can seem a bit hypocritical at this point. However, your height is always relative. Stand next to a group of five-year-old children and you’ll be a giant. And even if you are quite tall, you can still look very short next to a NBA basketball team. I am pointing this out because I see a lot of people – including myself – are dealing with low self-esteem only because they think they are short.

There are many reasons why people are short and it’s not always their own fault. Nevertheless, it’s their own fault if they don’t do anything against it, but more about that later. Some of the reasons why people are short can be corrected and some cannot. For example, your genes determine your body’s height and size and unfortunately, it is impossible to change your genes. However, chances are that your genes would allow you to be taller than you are right now. You could achieve that by correcting some of the other things that can still be changed, like how often you perform stretching exercises.

For an estimate of your genetically determined body height, you should look at your parents. Just the way you inherited things like hair, skin color or eye color from your parents and grand-parents, you inherit their body height. If you have short parents, it means that you have the genes of short people. Is that your fault? Of course not – and there’s no one to blame, either. Think about the following two different approaches instead. If you always want to be the tallest person in the room, you are going to live quite an unhappy life. Increasing your height by two or even four inches is quite possible, but always being the tallest person wherever you are is rather hopeless.

Anyways, the good news is that there are ways to grow taller naturally. You could probably even become taller than your parents! Most likely, your parents have not applied methods and techniques to increase their height like you’ll do. Research and first-hand personal experiences show that people can still grow taller naturally – even if they have already passed the ager of puberty. There are so-called height gain programs that provide you with step-by-step guides. These programs consist of doing the right exercises, having a better diet and sleeping more. Of course, there are many more details to such a program but in its essence, that’s what they are about.
